I studied Psychology (University of Edinburgh, 2004-08) and was fascinated by human motivation, but felt I lacked the tools to help at that time.
While working in other fields, I earned a Masters Degree in Social Work, aiming to gain those skills.
While I valued my work with young people, I found the system restrictive for relational and empowering approaches.
This led me to study Gestalt Psychotherapy (since 2007).
Currently, I operate a private practice as a psychotherapist, supervisor, trainer, and consultant, integrating Gestalt and neuroscience in my trauma work. I find my work fulfilling and look forward many more years continuing in the filed.
Through engaging with me you will experience:
Presence, connection, play, hard work, and purpose – my keystones to living positively.
Gestalt practice helps individuals increase their self-awareness and work through chaos, confusion, stuckness, uncertainty, and bring some clarity of vision. The present moment is our access point to awareness; where we are now, the memories of the past, and the projections of the future. By focusing on where we direct our thoughts, and what happens in our bodies, we can begin to makes informed choices. Gestalt therapy and coaching helps people become more aware of how actions affect relationships with others.
DBR Therapy is a trauma based approach that helps people safely work through trauma symptoms of shock, and difficult emotions, and reorient relational patterns. The brain has a natural ability to reorient, just like a flower or a tree grows towards the sun. In DBR we attempt to reorient from a state of threat and dysregulation to a state of safety and balance. This is achieved via following the AS-OT-SH-A process.
Supervision is a space for psychotherapists to gain understanding of their work with clients. Our dialogue is aimed at deepening relational and clinical work. I view supervision as a safe space that is relational, where we are present together and step into dialogue. Through dialogue new insights emerge with the potential to positively impact the psychotherapy.
I offer Gestalt Relational supervision – based on the Matrix Model.
I offer DBR Consultation.
I partner with Relational Change to offer relational supervision training to psychotherapists and organisational consultants.
I partner with DBR (deepbrainreorienting.com) as a training assistant to support trauma training for psychotherapists.
I support managerial staff in organisations to understand their dynamic roles in relationship with other professionals and the organisation as a living self.
I offer individual sessions and group work. Professionals can bring their individual, personal and professional selves to a safe space and understand more about what they want and need, and how to take this forward.
